MITIGATION AND CLEMENCY VIDEOS

We produce 15-25 minute mitigation videos for capital and non-capital cases around the U.S. These videos can be produced for the public, judges, DA’s, the Governor, the Criminal Court of Appeals, or throughout any stage of advocacy. Our videos seek reduced sentences, redirection to mental health services, Clemency, stays from execution, and more. These videos draw upon interviews with clients, experts, loved ones, and mentors to craft the strongest mitigation story possible, from childhood to present day. Working with mitigation specialists, we incorporate a client’s researched social history into a video narrative with photo archive, while emphasizing resilience and relationship in their present day lives. We have an experienced and sensitive team that recognizes the enormous courage of those who appear on camera to help their loved one. Ultimately, this work is about people’s lives, and we never lose sight of that in our process.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Visual materials help bring the social history of a client to life. If social workers or attorneys would like to accompany their work with compelling visual materials, we are available to produce high quality photographs as needed. This option is suitable for quick turn arounds, and provides compelling visual supplements without the extensive commitment of video production.

ORGINAZATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

We partner with organizations doing work in criminal justice reform to produce content for their communications outlets. This could look like a short form documentary about a specific aspect of the organization, or a certain issue that they would like to speak about to the public. We also make mission statement videos and help organizations craft their story around this work.

TRAININGS AND CONSULTATIONS

We look forward to helping expand this practice, especially in the state of Texas where it is quite new. We are happy to lead workshops, trainings, or one-on-one consultations about the practice of video mitigation. Get in touch with us at dueprocessmedia@gmail.com.
